Overcoming Challenges in Open Hole Gravel Packing
Open Hole Gravel Packing (OHGP) involves placing gravel laden fluid in the annulus, where increased frictional pressures during the Alpha and Beta wave can exceed the reservoir's fracture pressure, causing losses. These losses result in incomplete gravel packs, jeopardizing the well’s production, especially in horizontal and extended reach wells.

The EC-Drill® and EC-Drill ® Dual MPD offers a unique managed pressure drilling approach which regulates the annulus pressure throughout the gravel packing process, achieving a full screen out without exceeding the fracture gradient.
